Amy looked down at the bearer bonds, a small stack of paper that represented hundreds of thousands of dollars; a small stack of paper that could pay for her tuition at med school; a small stack of paper that the owner thought had just gone up in smoke.

She was stood in a vault that probably cost more to install than Amy’s entire flat.

The temptation to take it was immense.

She swallowed, then stepped to the threshold of the vault and peeked out.

“Gonna be long?” she called, hearing the croak of fear in her voice.

“Just doing my make-up,” Victoria called.

The burn on her wrist can’t have been too bad if she was plastering on make up and picking out an outfit for her trip to the Emergency Room.

Amy turned back to the bearer bonds.

She had no idea what they were, only that they represented her potential future. A future she had dreamed of for years now.

Her hands were trembling, and she was caught between her moral code, and the delicious temptation of it.

Those bonds wouldn’t even be missed.

A curio Victoria had called them. That was how little value these people put on such trivial amounts of cash.

Amy worked hard, and would never see this kind of money in her entire life.

She saved lives, for very little recompense.

  What did these people do?

Get dressed up to go to hospital?

She realised she was forming an argument of justification; and realised too how close she was to taking the bonds. Her chest was tight, and she was finding it harder to breathe; her heart was pounding in her chest and she could hear the blood rushing in her ears. Adrenaline was pumping through her body, and she felt ready to take flight.

  It was now or never.

  Now.

She bolted forward and scooped up the bonds, pushing them to the bottom of her bag and tugging the zipper closed. She yanked the straps over one shoulder and held onto it tight.

Her heart was pounding even more now.

  “Ready,” she heard Victoria coo.

  “Coming.”

Out of the opulent bedroom, along the hallway lined with expensive paintings, and down the sweeping staircase made of marble; no, the woman walking beside her wouldn’t miss a cent of this money.

“We should call a fire truck in to check the fire is definitely out,” Amy said, her voice so small she barely recognised it.

“Do what you must,” Victoria sighed. “But they’ll have to call ahead and make sure someone is here.”

Amy shook her head; this woman had no concept of the real world.

They stepped out of the mansion, and Amy helped her climb into the back of the ambulance.

“What fun,” Victoria chuckled. “Oddest limo ride I’ve ever had.”

Amy slammed the door hard, and moved round to the cab.

She was halfway to the nearest ER when she remembered she’d agreed to take Victoria to Cedars-Sinai, halfway across town. With a heavy sigh, she changed her route and took a long look at the bag sitting in the footwell of the passenger side.

Had Jennifer been with her, instead of resting, this would never have happened.

Yeah, that’s right Amy, she thought, spread the blame.

She shook her head and decided to own this.

  She’d taken the bonds.

  It was her choice.

And she would live with that choice.

As she went through med school.

That thought cheered her up, and she felt a broad smile spreading across her face.

“That poor boy,” Victoria said, so close to Amy’s ear she jumped and swerved the rig a little.

“What?” Amy said with a yelp.

Victoria nodded to the billboard ahead, at the smiling cherubic face of the missing child.

“I know the parents,” she added. “Must be out of their minds. I should remember to have Dina send them a card.”

And with that, she clambered into the passenger seat with an inelegance that was comical enough to make Amy chuckle.

“Don’t mind if I sit up front do you?”

  “I shouldn’t really let you.”

“It can be our little secret,” Victoria said, then tutted.

She couldn’t get comfy, and she reached down to grab the bag that was blocking her feet.

Amy gasped, and held her breath, but she simply tossed it in the back with no regard for what might be inside it.

“Any chance of putting the siren on?” she asked with a childish grin.

  “Not really.”

“But my burn?” she held up her wrist, the damp cloth clinging to it, affecting a mock pathetic face.

Amy smiled, then leaned over and flicked the switch. They blared above them, and traffic began to move, clearing a path which Amy sped down with glee. Beside her, Victoria chuckled with delight.

“Am I supposed to tip you?” she asked. “I never know.”

Amy thought of the bonds in the bag.

“It’s not necessary,” she said, enjoying her own private joke.

Then a pang of guilt, and she realised she was revelling in the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

She swallowed, and concentrated on getting to the hospital as quickly as possible, and getting away from the scene of the crime and the victim.

But some good would come of this.

Another great doctor would be released into the world to save hundreds and hundreds of lives.

When she thought about it like that, the money seemed a cheap way to buy the happiness of all those people and their families. It wasn’t such a selfish act to take it, really.

  Was it?

Amy pulled up outside the ER, and then helped Victoria inside. She hung around as little as possible, hurrying through the admission paperwork, then sped back to the station house.

Jennifer seemed just as distracted as Amy felt, as they sat on the couch and watched bad soap operas, heckling them with less frequency than normal. All the while, she kept returning to her bag and checking that the bonds were still safely inside.

Her choice to take them was beginning to sink in, and as well as dealing with the guilt, she began to weigh up the practicalities; she didn’t even know how to cash in a bearer bond, she realised.

The rest of the watch passed without a call-out, and Amy grabbed her stuff and hurried home. Once inside, she locked the door, and sought out Joseph, whom she found with his feet up on the recliner, a beer in his hand, watching a ball game he’d recorded.

  “Hey,” she said.

He didn’t reply, and she realised he was probably still sulking from earlier when she had rebuffed his sexual advances at the hospital. And she wanted him to talk, because she needed to get it all off of her chest.

But she knew he wouldn’t be interested unless she made amends.

And yet, she didn’t want to be the one to buckle; it had been him who was in the wrong, not her.

  She sighed, and u
nbuttoned a few buttons of her shirt, then straddled his lap, being sure to let him feel the heat of her pussy pressing into him. He feigned a lack of interest, craning his neck to look around her at the screen, but his cock betrayed him. She could feel it growing between her legs, and she leaned forward, giving a view down her top that made it grow even harder.

Then she nuzzled into his neck, and she heard him put his can down and felt his hands snake around to her ass, squeezing it harshly. As she sucked his earlobe, moaning into him, she pushed her hand between her legs and found his prick, massaging it rhythmically until it was fully proud and ready to burst through his fly.

  “Sorry about earlier,” she whispered.

“No worries,” he said, and she nearly smacked him for not taking responsibility.

But she didn’t want to start another row.

Instead, she unzipped his fly and fished out his cock, pumping it gently in her fist and kissing him deep on the mouth. His fingers dug into her ass, and she squirmed, liking the sensation, pleased her body was responding the way he would be expecting.

She suddenly wanted, needed, a fuck.

The adrenaline from her rookie heist was pumping through her veins, and she realised her pussy was ready to be filled. She pumped his cock harder now, hissing as she did so, looking down at its stiff shape in her fist, wanting to feel it deep within her.

  It was too much.

She angled her hips and yanked open her pants, squirming just enough to free them from her hips and expose her panties, which she pulled to one side, and wriggled into position. The tip of his cock pushed past her lips, and she pushed her weight down his length, gasping as she took him, loving the guttural grunt he made as he felt her tight heat gripping him.

He pawed open her shirt and dragged her tits free from her bra, and as he sucked hungrily from one nipple to the other, she rolled her hips in circles, feeling every inch of his hot cock moving inside her.

She looked to one side, and saw the bag, picturing the bonds within, remembering what it meant for her life, and she was overcome with arousal.

Amy started to fuck her man, bouncing and sliding on his lap, smothering his face with her voluptuous tits, moaning and swearing with each passing moment, feeling her orgasm rising within, every nerve ending tingling with desire. And the thought of Patrick danced in her mind for the briefest of moments. She shook it away, and looked to Joseph below her.

As his cock stiffened and twitched inside her, she let go, feeling her whole body tense and release as her climax overcame her senses.

When she opened her eyes again, she realised she had her head in his chest, and that her hips were still slowly grinding down on his waning prick. She let go of him, letting him slip out, making her shiver. Then she kissed him once, softly, feeling guilty and dirty that she’d been the one to apologise. But the adrenaline of her day had been too much, and a good fuck was just what she’d needed, even if she hadn’t realised it at the time.

“I’ve got something to show you,” she said, and jumped off his lap like a kid at Christmas.

Within moments, she’d opened the bag and flopped the bonds out onto the coffee table. He looked at them, unimpressed.

“What are they?” he said after a lengthy, dumb silence.

“Bearer bonds,” she said, hearing her own triumph.

He shook his head, not comprehending.

“Untraceable bonds, worth ten thousand each.”

“Where the hell did you get them?”

  “It’s not important.”

  “Fuck’s sake,” he sputtered.

  “That’s my med school tuition.”

  “Take them back.”

  “What?”

  “Take them back. Now.”

  “No.”

  “They’re not yours.”

  “They’re not anyone’s. Not anymore.”

  “You stole them.”

“I did not.” She was feeling totally resolved now. “I liberated them from a fire.”

“Fucking hell Amy,” he threw up his hands. “You’re in so much trouble.”

“Am not. Why can’t you be happy for me?”

  “What?”

“I can go to med school, like we always wanted.”

  “Like YOU always wanted.”

  “What does that mean?”

“It means, you’d be a crappy doctor.”

Amy felt her knees give way beneath her, and she had to slump onto the couch to stop from falling down.

“This stupid med school pipe dream,” he scoffed. “It’s turned you into a fucking thief.”

“I didn’t steal them,” she blurted, convinced she was being truthful. “And since when have you felt like this about med school?”

  “Since always.”

  “Well fuck you then.”

  “Get those out of here.”

  “No.”

Patrick looked up into the stream of water cascading down from the shower and let it wash over his face, before he stepped back slightly and felt the water massaging his torso. He rubbed his six-pack, wondering how long he would be able to keep it up, on a physical level, not just a mental one.

With that thought, he swallowed; trying once more to forget his condition.

He didn’t know what he would do if he was desk bound.

And he realised this was the exact reason Jennifer was resisting it too.

  But the day was coming.

  Soon.

  For both of them.

Patrick found himself wondering how it would affect the sex. They usually ended up fucking after a call-out, when their adrenaline levels were high, and they didn’t want to come down from it. What’s more, Jennifer’s attitude to their fuck buddy relationship would surely change when she gave birth. She’d want something more stable, it would only be natural; and Patrick wouldn’t fit that criteria, not for her, he knew that, and it didn’t bother him.

He could go without sex, so long as he was on active duty.

Which is where Amy came in.

He still had no idea what she would do with her newfound knowledge, and their off days had made him even less certain. At least with her in the house, he could gauge her mood better.

The heat from the shower was comforting.

He let the water fill his mouth, before spitting it out, then found his mind wandering back to Jennifer. Their last fuck had been pretty intense, and as he remembered it now, he could feel his cock getting hard.

Everyone else in the fire house was gathered around the big screen TV in the break room, heckling a ball game; he could easily jerk one off.

He reached down with one hand, planting the other on the wet tiled wall, and started to pump away with his fist. His balls bounced vigorously and he loved how hard he started to feel.

His memories of his last fuck soon gave way to fantasies of another kind.

Amy stepped into the fray, straddling him, riding him hard, her huge tits bouncing in front of his face as he spanked her ass, encouraging her on.

He felt bad about indulging this, and so stopped, his prick still rock hard from the work out.

The conflicting emotions of being attracted to his younger brother’s girlfriend, and having her know his secret was too much, and often made these brief indulgences even more arousing. And so he was determined to stop them.

He yanked the faucet off, and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around his waist and heading out into the empty locker room.

  Or so he thought.

  Amy was just walking in.

“You’re late,” he said, an observation rather than a rebuke.

“Who gives a fuck?” she snapped, yanking open her locker and hurling her bag into it with some venom.

He realised his erection was tenting obviously in his towel, as water droplets gathered on his chest and chiselled torso.

  She hadn’t noticed.

“Just an observation,” he conceded, and moved to his own locker, using it as an excuse to shie
ld his tumescence.

  “You’re brother’s a prick.”

  “I know it.”

She sighed, then leaned back against another locker. He could feel her eyes on his back, and it did nothing to help his ardour wane. Patrick wondered if she was about to broach the subject at last.

“If you ...” she suddenly stopped herself.

  “Huh?”

  “Nothing.”

In the mirror, he saw her cross her arms across her chest, plumping her delicious tits in the process.

“I’m good at my job right?” she asked.

  “The best.”

“So why couldn’t I be a good doctor?”

He turned, without thinking, and looked her in the eye.

“You’re gonna be a great doctor,” he said, confused as to why she was thinking like this.

“Apparently not,” she huffed, then flicked her eyes down to his crotch, letting them linger there for a moment too long. When she looked back up at him, he saw her cheeks were flushed.

“Look,” he began, then didn’t know how to finish.

  “Where’s Jen?”

  “Dunno. What’s wrong?”

  “Nothing.”

“Listen to me,” he said firmly, which made her eyes snap to his. “You’re gonna be a great doctor.”

  “Whatever.

  “You are.”

She took a deep breath, heaving that voluptuous, curvaceous bosom beneath her crossed arms. He felt her eyes on his erection again, and was about to turn around to hide it once more.

But before he could, she stepped across to him, hovering close, the heat of her body palpable against his exposed skin. She made no effort to hide the fact she was gazing as his cock, and then she leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his left nipple.

The tip of her tongue stroked around it, before her lips sucked it gently.

“Don’t,” he said, not convinced he meant it.

She moved to the other nipple, kissing it once, then licking at it, her arms still folded in front of her.

  “Stop it,” he said.

  She didn’t.

Instead, as she continued to tease him, her hand dropped, finding his cock behind the towel. Her fingers wrapped around the top of his aching shaft, squeezing the thick towelling against the heat and stiffness of his prick, gently pumping at it as her tongue licked at him.
